The trees of this massive front entryway are carved from 8×8 in. laminated yellow cedar posts. With its stunning glasswork it's like stumbling on a wonderful view while out for a hike.
The Story
It all starts with a sketch. I drafted a number of drawings before coming up with the final design. I then sat back and scratched my head as to how I was actually going to build it. In order for the design to have the power and presence I was looking for, the whole thing would need to be approached differently than a standard jamb system.
